Obituary of Julia Theresa Lopata

Julia Theresa Lopata, 87, died on September 23, 2014, at Summerville Medical Center. Julia was born on January 21, 1927, in Shenandoah, PA, to the late Michael Pietkiewicz and the late Antonina Pietkiewicz. She grew up in Shenandoah and moved to Hartford, CT, to raise her family. She later retired in Summerville where she volunteered many years at the Summerville Medical Center. She was predeceased by her husband Adelbert Lopata, brother Michael Pietkiewicz and sister Leocadia Barrett. Survivors include her daughter, Geralyn Demas and husband, Bill, Summerville, SC, and her son, Michael Lopata and wife Tamara, Atlanta, GA, and four grandchildren, Matthew and Andrew Demas and Trenton and Marisa Lopata. She is also survived by two brothers, Stanley Pietkiewicz, Shenandoah, PA, and Alfonso Pietkiewicz and wife Dorothy, Pottsville, PA. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for Saturday, November 8th at 9:00 AM at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church located at 11001 Dorchester Road, Summerville, SC with a reception to follow at the home of Geralyn and Bill Demas.
