Obituary of Linda Denny Moore

Linda Denny Moore rejoiced on her way to meet our Heavenly Father on Thursday, June 26, 2014. After fighting a courageous battle against ALS, she passed into Heaven during prayer surrounded by her family. Linda was born in Sumter County on July 22, 1947 and lived on James Island for the last 37 years. She was predeceased by her special son, Joshua Bruce Moore. Surviving are her devoted husband, Robert Bruce Moore of James Island and her daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Bill Martin of Beaufort, SC. She was “Nana” to Kidron, Kendall, Liam, and Brooks Martin. She also leaves behind a sister, 2 brothers, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She shepherded many hearts throughout the years with her gift of teaching math. She loved music and played praise and worship songs on the flute, guitar, piano, and dulcimer. She entertained many as she also loved theatrical productions and her angelic voice will not be forgotten. Most importantly Linda was a caretaker. She showed her love for Christ in her care and concern for others. She will be missed forever. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, June 30 at James Island Christian Church, 12 Sawgrass Road, Charleston, SC, where she was a member. Visitation with the family will be invited at 10:00 AM followed by the service at 11:00 AM. Entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Amedisys, Hospice of Charleston, James Island Christian Church, or the ALS Foundation. Arrangements are by Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation & Burial Services, North Charleston, SC.
