Obituary of Mary Russell Arrington

Mary Russell Arrington, age 91, died on Tuesday, June 24, 2014. She was born in Society Hill, SC, and attended college at the University of South Carolina. After working in New York and Washington DC, she met and married James “Sid” Arrington and taught school in Hartsville SC. Later she was awarded a fellowship to University of New Hampshire where she received her Master’s Degree and became a reading specialist in Montgomery County, MD, Hartsville, SC and Charleston, SC. She is survived by her daughters, Aileen Arrington and Frances Coker Arrington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Doctors Without Borders, USA, www.doctorswithoutborders.org. A memorial service will be held at the chapel at the Village at Summerville in Summerville, SC at 2PM on June 26.
