Obituary of Christopher Alvin Thornton

Chris A. Thornton departed this world on Friday, June 13, 2014 and was reunited forever with his parents and two brothers. Chris was born on October 6, 1960 in Charleston, SC. He was a graduate from Charleston Southern, formerly the Baptist College at Charleston, with a Bachelor of Arts degree and was an electrician by trade. He was a talented artist; loved the beach and fishing; he had a kind heart and loved his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Annette Mole Thornton; father, George T. Thornton Sr.; and brothers, George T. Thornton Jr. and Vance E. Thornton. He will be deeply missed by his sister, Kim A. Futrell and husband Tim; nieces, Christine Futrell and Casey Watson; nephews, T. Lee Futrell Jr. and George Thornton III; sister-in-law, Della Thornton of SC; nieces, Anne Grice and Tara Ivey of NC; and extended family and friends. A memorial honoring and celebrating Chris’ life will be held at a later date.
