Obituary of Catherine Marie Halbrooks

Catherine Marie Halbrooks, age 38, of Charleston, SC, passed away on May 12, 2014. Cassy was born on Nov 26, 1975 in Sterling, CT to JC and Frances Halbrooks. She graduated from Plainfield High School (Central Village, CT) in 1993 and received a BA in Philosophy from St. Anselm College (Manchester, NH) in 1997. Cassy lived and worked in Framingham, MA prior to relocating to the Charleston area to teach Language Arts at Sangaree Middle School. Through the generosity and support of her friends and loved ones she was able to spend her last week in Paris; her bravery and grace in the face of illness will serve as an inspiration to all who knew her. Cassy is survived by her mother Frances Halbrooks of East Falmouth, MA and her three brothers: Jf Halbrooks and his wife Noreen of Mansfield, CT; Peter Halbrooks and his wife Christina of Merrimack, NH; and Jacob Halbrooks and his wife Beth of Mason, NH. She is also survived by four nieces and two nephews. A memorial service will be held at 5 PM Friday (May 16) at Unity Church of Charleston (2535 Leeds Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29405).
