Obituary of Karen Palermo

God gained another angel on December 28, 2017 at 12pm. Karen D Palermo, age 54, of Charleston, SC entered into eternal rest after a long battle with multiple health problems; although battling these issues for so long, she had a life fulfilled with love. At the time or her passing, she was surrounded by her daughters, grandchildren and close family friends. Karen was born on August 9, 1963 to Betty Beaudrot and Mr. Elmore. Karen has 2 children and 2 step children. Her oldest, Tonya Ramos and her husband, Demetrius Ramos. Her youngest daughter, Tina Barnhill and her husband, Daniel Barnhill, her step children, Joyce and Stacy. Karen had several grand children, Corey, Johnathan, Tyler, Kaitlynn, Haven, Taniyah, Eddie, Noah, Catherine, Mary Ann, Jon, Titus, Lexi, Sarah and Gabe. Karen also has great grand children, Jonah, Hunter, Ava, Jacob, and Thomas. Karen is survived by her mother, Betty Beaudrot and her brother, Monty Boroughs. She is preceded in death by her three sisters Debbie, Sharon and Sandy. Karen leaves behind a very special pet who was also her best friend, Pee Wee. She also has two very special people who she considers her daughters, Cacey Anderson and Sarah Burgsteiner. Karen also leaves behind very special people who she lived with – Mary Maddox, Janet Lavender, Melanie Lavender, and Jordan Stewart. Karen had many nieces and nephews along with other friends who all loved her very much. We also wanted to say thank you to her doctors and nurses who helped her through this journey and a very special thank you to Hospice of Charleston who made sure that in her final days, she was comfortable and not in pain, and also helped Tina, Tonya, and the family any way they could. Fly high Momma, we love you!! A memorial service will be held Sunday, January 7th, from 1pm to 3pm at Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services Summerville Chapel (281 Treeland Drive, Ladson, SC 29456).
