Krystal Colinco

Obituary of Krystal Candace Colinco

Krystal Colinco, 17, of Summerville, SC, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2019. She was a beloved big sister to 3 wonderful girls, and a very special soul to all. KC, as she was affectionately known, was born on June 25, 2001 in Queens, New York, and attended Palmetto Scholars Academy and Summerville High School. She would have graduated from high school in 2 months. Krystal was a part of many clubs and activities throughout middle school and high school, like VEX robotics, Odyssey of the Mind, Accelerate, and National Honors Society. During these activities and programs, she achieved countless accomplishments. She also availed of the satellite program made available by Clemson University Engineering department at her high school. She wanted to take college courses in high school because she wanted to finish college in two years, instead of 4, so she can save money on tuition. As you can see, KC was an overachiever and very goal-oriented.

She was also such a generous person and wanted to save the world. She was constantly giving and giving to others. She took care of family members and was close to lots of people in different ways. She was so talented with the purest intentions to make others feel special. She liked baking and decorating cakes for others, knitting and making clothes and blankets for the less fortunate, playing and singing songs for people. She also played many instruments like the piano, guitar, ukelele and the saxophone. She also liked to compose her own music. She actually submitted an entry to her high school and ended up winning first place in Music Composition. She always used her talents and time to give back. Last year, Krystal spread global awareness to help the needy in another country. At her school, she encouraged fellow high school students to donate clothing, shoes, backpacks and toiletries to an orphanage named Home of Hope that her great grandma, Fe Colinco, started in the Philippines. Some of the students responded to the need and Krystal ended up sending two huge boxes full of goodies to the said orphanage. Krystal was scheduled to go home to the Philippines after her graduation to help her great grandma with her various ministries and projects.

KC will be so greatly missed and will always be remembered. She was a pure soul, very funny, loving, quirky, a foodie, and a great friend to a lot of people. She leaves behind her great grandmother, grandmothers, uncle, aunts, and cousins who loved her so deeply.
