Obituary of Carolyn Ann Schellhammer

Carolyn Ann Schellhammer of Summerville, SC died unexpectedly of natural causes in her home early Tuesday morning April 9^th, 2019.  She is preceded in death by her husband William Schellhammer, her sister Nancy Burkhardt, her brother Richard Fetzner as well as her mother and father, Edward and Genevieve Fetzner.  She is survived by her daughter, Christina Tononi, son-in-law Todd Tononi and 3 grandchildren Nicholas Tononi, Tiffany Tononi – Hinman, and Haden Tononi as well as her brother and sister-in-law Joseph and Jaqueline Fetzner and many nieces and nephews. 

                Carol was born and raised in Erie, Pennsylvania where she worked at General Electric assembling locomotives.  After marrying William Schellhammer, they moved to Vero Beach, Fl where they spent most of their time at the Dodger’s training camp.  She moved to Summerville, SC, after the death of her husband in 2008.  Shortly thereafter, she met a special friend, Tom Stovall, with whom she had great adventures sailing the east coast and learning to fly.  Carol and Tom settled back in Summerville in 2016 where she worked with her family at Atlantic Bedding and Furniture.

                Carol was an amazing seamstress and had many hobbies including quilting, crocheting and ceramics.  Carol loved to read and loved animals and babies.  She spent her time taking care of the people around her, she will be missed.

                Services for friends and family will be held at Simplicity Lowcountry at 281 Treeland Dr., Ladson
SC, 29456 from 6-8 pm on Thursday April 18^th, 2019.
