Obituary of Karen L Oakes

Karen L. Oakes, 59 of Goose Creek, passed away with family by her side on Thursday, May 30, 2019.
 
Karen married her soulmate, John Oakes, on February 11, 1984. From this union four children were born; Shauna, John, Ashley, and Christina.

Karen was a dedicated wife and mother, she treasured her family and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Nana, and always cherished the time she spent with each of her grandchildren. She had an infectious smile and personality, and never met a stranger. She had a big heart and loved deeply, always thinking of others first. Her love and compassion will be forever remembered.

Those left to cherish Karen’s loving memory are her husband John Oakes, her children Shauna Morris (Will), John (Jessica), Ashley (Sean), and Christina, her grandchildren John, Anthony, Patty, Aaliyah, Christian, Amiya, Bella, and Alex, her mother Delores, sisters Sherry and Doree, brothers Micheal and Pat, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service celebrating Karen’s life will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2019, at 1:00pm at Simplicity funeral home, 281 Treeland Drive, Ladson, SC 29456.

Flowers for the family will be accepted at the funeral home.
