Obituary of James Taylor

James “Bo” Taylor of Ladson, SC, age 78, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017. He was born on April 23, 1939 to the late Dewey Strickland Taylor and Olivia Prescott Taylor of Alcolu, SC; and was preceded in death by his sister, Cricket Chappell. Bo resided in Charleston, SC for over 50 years. He retired from General Electric after 25 years of service, later retired from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2001, and finally enjoyed his retirement. He was a member of New Beginnings Christian Church of Ladson, SC for 13 years where he served as an Elder. He leaves to cherish loving memories, devoted wife, Barbara “Bobbie” Taylor, to whom he was married for 56 years; three daughters, Tammy T. (Tim) Holseberg of Moncks Corner, SC, Kimberly T. Easterling of North Charleston, SC, and Michelle T. (Charlie) Smith of Charleston, SC; one brother, Wyman (Ann) Taylor of Sumter, SC; one sister, Mary Ellen Bilton of Sumter, SC; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. He is also survived and will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. He was an avid bowler, loved woodworking, and dedicated Christian. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2017, at 1:00 pm at New Beginnings Christian Church, 10054 Hwy 78, Ladson, SC. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Taylor’s name may be made to New Beginnings Christian Church.
