Obituary of Thomas William Woodrum

Thomas William Woodrum, 71 of Summerville, SC, passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 28, 2016. Tom was born in Huntington, West Virginia on August 28,1944 a son of the late Elmo and Evadene Woodrum. Tom was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who truly enjoyed his family and friends. Tom is survived by his wife of 53 years Patricia Johnson Woodrum and his children Tamara Woodrum Fabre (Willie), Theresa Woodrum Runyon, Thomas William Woodrum II, Michael Thomas Woodrum (Kristina), and Ronald Reid (Jennifer). His grandchildren Glenn “Boomer” Martin Coleman II (Elizabeth), Allyson Elaine Coleman, William Lee Runyon IV, all of Summerville and his sister Jackie Nell Woodrum Davis of Milton, West Virginia, and several nieces and nephews. Tom also leaves behind loved ones Richard and Lisa Royal, Jim and Peggy Doby, and Steve and Alice Delong. Tom worked 8 years for International Nikel Company in Huntington, WVA and as an Account Manager for the Paper Division of the Southeast for Proctor and Gamble for 39 years. He was instrumental in starting Summerville Soccer Club and the South Carolina High School Ice Hockey League. He coached youth baseball at Doty Field and Parks Field, and youth football for Sertoma. He enjoyed being involved in his children and grandchildren’s sports including football, baseball, softball, and ice hockey. Tom was a Mason, a Kentucky Colonel and a member of St. George’s Episcopal Church. Friends are invited to a celebration of Tom’s life on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 6:00 pm at James A Dyal Funeral Home in Summerville where memorials can be sent.
