Obituary of Curtis Wiggins Sr.

Curtis Ronald Wiggins Sr, 58, of Ladson, South Carolina passed away Sunday, July 7^th,2019.

“Aye Bub”….Curtis was born in Charleston, SC to the parents of Gilbert and Betty Jo Wiggins on October 1, 1960. Curtis is a proud son of a soldier from the Korean War. He went to Berkeley High School. He married Verna Reynolds on September 1, 1979, at Ridge Baptist Church in Summerville. They lived in Ladson for many years, while raising their sons, Curtis Wiggins Jr., Brian Wiggins and daughter, Alecia Wiggins. Curtis worked many years at the shipyard, sandblasting and painting. He loved spending his time outdoors at the water or in the mountains. He loved most of all hanging out with his beloved children and ten grandchildren. He loved to sit on the porch and watch the grandchildren play ball in the yard. He was a kind, sincere and devoted man whose smiling face brought joy to those he met. His famous “Aye Bub” saying and his brown puppy dog eyes will be missed most of all by his family.

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert Jr. and Betty Jo Wiggins; and his brother, Gilbert Wiggins III. Curtis is survived by his children, Curtis Wiggins Jr., Brian (Amber) Wiggins, and Alecia Wiggins (Mitchell Hicks); sisters, Linda (David) Wilkes, Sue (David) Williams, Diane (Richard) Burchfield, Tammie Moore; and Brother, David Jesse (Dee) Wiggins.

A meorial service will be held on Friday, July 19, 2019 from 2-3pm at Simplicity: Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services (281 Treeland Dr. Ladson, SC 29456).  Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial on Rivers Ave from 3-4pm. Flowers may be sent to Simplicity.
