Obituary of Dorothy Elaine Bazemore Chandler

Elaine B. Chandler Dorothy Elaine Bazemore Chandler (62, Walterboro) lost her battle to cancer on May 20, 2013. A Memorial Service for this amazing mother, sister and friend will be held on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at 4pm at Black Creek Baptist Church located at 4931 Black Creek Rd, Walterboro, SC 29488. Elaine was born June 23, 1950 to Fred Franklin Bazemore and Edna Dorothy Green in Chatham County, Georgia. She leaves behind her beloved son, Donald Jack Richardson, Jr, his wife, Betsy, and their son, Jack. Also surviving Elaine is her loving sister, Carolyn Holland, and her children Katherine, Ronald and Johnny and their respective families. As well as her special friend, Tony Valentine and his family. As well as her daughter, Dorothy Douglas, and her children Cassie, Chris, AJ & Nicholas. Elaine was a well-respected and much loved business woman in the import/export brokerage industry. She started her career at John S James in Savannah, GA. In 1982, she joined Hipage (Charleston, SC) and remained there for over 30 years, progressing to the position of Vice President. She had an unequaled passion and love for her career and the people who surrounded her along the way. Elaine was an animal lover, with dachshunds holding a special place in her heart. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and Sudoku, Goodwill shopping, and traveling with friends and family. She always had a smile on her face, and was happy to spread her joy to everyone in her life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ASPCA, Pet Helpers, or the Gentiva Hospice Foundation in Elaine’s memory. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
