My sincere condolences to the whole Picard family. It is never an easy experience to see a loved one pass from life to death. No one is exempt from this experience. For me, always it brings back the memories I have with Larry, like playing golf on Sunday afternoons at the “Muni” in Charleston with his Dad, Mr. Henry Picard (Pick). Plus, driving to Augusta for the Masters’’ on Tuesday mornings, going to a movie theatre while Larry’s Dad, The ‘38 Masters’ Champion went to the Masters’ Champion’s Dinner. Where did all the time go? They say that for a 10-yr. old, time goes at 10 mph, 20 yr. old , times goes at 20 mph, 50 yr old —- 50 mph, etc. So true.
Oh! Now, I remember, I earned a Bachelor in Math/physics - E. MICH. U. So, Larry was trying to recruit me for the NAVY Nuclear Program. I almost did it. Hence, I felt badly, so I gifted Larry a portrait of Albert Einstein. You should have seen his face, the expression - priceless, when he unrolled that portrait, discovering who it was. It meant a lot to me because of my love for science but, seeing his countenance change made more than worth it. You see I free-handed the drawing with an art pencil. Now. You the rest of the story. Then, there’s a time about the stick shift broke on the FORD and Larry’s Dad wrote a letter to Mr. Henry Ford about the quality of his cars. There’s more to that story to share at a later time.
In closing, I think Larry would like me to say a prayer (Larry told me, he went to seminary for a time before chemistry ). My Prayer is: Our FATHER IN HEAVEN! HOLY HOLY IS YOUR NAME! FATHER don’t look at our un- belief but, see the Faith that we do have. And that is to COME TO YOU FATHER in this time of grief and time of missing Larry Picard as husband, father, uncle, friend, and neighbor. Let YOUR RESURRECTING POWER that Raised JESUS CHRIST from the grave bring forth comfort, healing, assurance that death’s sting does not have a hold on us. That for the believer in JESUS CHRIST there’s Hope of seeing Larry again. Amen.

Hi Wanda and MIchelle, this is David Boles living in Milwaukee, WIsconsin. I am so sorry for your loss and just heard through Doug Holmes about Larry. i knew Larry through taking golf lessons from Henry.
Larry was such a kind and gentle man and i miss playing golf with him and being with him. We shared my first hole in one at the Chas. Municiple course. I hit the ball and we couldnt find it, finally Larry said "I hate to look in the hole" and that is where the ball was. I always enjoyed my time with him and admired the fine job he did of putting Mr. Picards world golf hall of fame induction together. i still have the large 3 ring binder he put together about Henrys life, what a great job he did on that !
I was honored and grateful that Larry was kind enough to invite me to the event in saint augustine florida. My wife was able to Meet Larry and Henry at your house in Summerville, in Kings Grant, in 1996, which is where i played golf in high school. I graduated from Summerville HS in 1978. knew Michelle briefly as we both went to the College of Charleston at the same time. my sincere condolences, and it was a pleasure to know Larry, God Bless, David Boles, 18485 Chevy Chase St, Brookfield WI 53045, 262-893-5315

My condolences to the Picard family. I pray God continues to comfort and strengthen the family during this time of bereavement. May the many cherished and loving memories of Lawrence continue to comfort his family and friends. A comforting thought to keep in mind is at Psalm 46:1 "God is our refuge and strength, a help that is readily found in times of distress." May you all have calming and pleasant thoughts during this time.

Wanda and children, I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. I was his secretary for quite a few years and have many good memories. He did love his family and golfing. One memory was he would always take his Dad to the Masters luncheon for former Masters winners! Gene and I send our love and prayers.
