Obituary of Bobbie Jean Pankey-Schilling-Strickland
Bobbie Jean Pankey passed away peacefully at her home in Hanahan on September 16, 2019. She was preceded in death by her father William Maston Pankey, mother Martha Ann Quick, one brother and six sisters. She is now in Heaven with the Lord.
She loved the outdoors with fishing, gardening and bird watching. She played pool with the APA for over 50 years and still an active pool league member. She finally made it to Las Vegas in 2016 for tournament play.
She lived in Florida with her son for over 15 years, where she ran an antique shop, and came back home to Charleston in 2014. She was a wonderful mother and friend to all that knew her. She never met a stranger. Surviving her loss are her four children, Donna Schilling Close, Karen Schilling Taylor, Pankey Schilling Gross(Daniel) and Alex Schilling – Hess (Steven), six grandchildren, Dennis Close (Kara), Christopher Close (Morgan), Paul Close, Michael “Brandon” Slagle, Victoria Hall (Ryan) and Amanda Gross, Three great granddaughters Isabell Close, Emily Close and Sophia Hall. Also surviving are her two sisters Shirly Quick Geene and Martha Ann Quick Legette and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no services per her request. She will be deeply missed by all!!
