Obituary of Dennis Robert Powell

Dennis Robert Powell, 43, of Summerville, eldest son of Dannie and Linda Powell of North Charleston, and son-in-law of Mary Lou Viloria of Valencia City, Philippines, departed this life on January 30, 2013. He is survived by his wife Mari Flor, his children Zacharie, Dennis, and Denize, and his grandson Cameron. He is also survived by his sister Samantha Judy (Perry) of Hanahan, his brother Jason of North Charleston, and his life long best friend/brother Kevin Hendrix of North Charleston. Dennis was a carpenter and home builder/subcontractor by trade, however his true passion was Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts, in which he was recently awarded a black belt. He was a very respected instructor and friend to his students. He will be sadly missed by everyone. Memorial Visitation for Mr. Powell will take place on Thursday, February 7 from 5PM-7PM at Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation & Burial Services. Services celebrating his life will follow at 7PM at the funeral home.
