Obituary of Lillian Pruett

Lillian D Pruett , 81 , of Charleston , South Carolina passed away November 10, 2017 at Hospice Center of Hospice of Charleston Mount Pleasant , South Carolina . She was born on October 14, 1936 in Enterprise, AL. to the late Henry and Lillian DeJarnette . Lillian Pruett, affectionately know as “Betty” by her family and close friends loved all that life had to offer. While she held several jobs over her career, her greatest love could be found in numerous social ventures including the Silverlake Bridge Club and Augusta Ballroom Dance. Lillian’s ability to demonstrate a high degree of skill and flare in the home kitchen, learned from her mother, grandmother and mother-in-law yielded complete and perfect meals, deserts and confections for any and all to enjoy. Not being limited to inside the home, she was able to produce year round blooms and vegetables for all seasons in her gardens that were enjoyed by all who knew her. Lillian’s undeniable love of God, her family, friends and country was in the forefront of her mind until her last breath. Her imprint on our lives is indelible and we are better because of her. Lillian is survived by Sons David Pruett (Mary) of Charleston, SC, Henry Pruett (Cynthia) of Evans, GA and daughter Susanne Paseur (Raymond) of Charleston, SC and 4 grand children. Siblings include Susan DeJarnette Calhoun (Frank) Pensacola, FL., Charles DeJarnette and James DeJarnette (Sandra) of Enterprise, AL. and numerous nephews, nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Jack Pruett and her parents Henry DeJarnette and Lillian DeJarnette. Private services will be held at the family home.
