Obituary of Joel Kalman

Joel Kalman, 61, of Charleston, South Carolina passed away September 20, 2017 at Roper Hospital Charleston, South Carolina. He was born on February 20, 1956 in Charleston, South Carolina to the late Joseph and Rose (Livingston) Kalman. A lifelong resident of Charleston, Joel was generous to a fault. He was well-known in the community as part owner in Kal’s Furniture Store for over 18 years. When he was not working, Joel loved being on the water. He enjoyed his jet skiing and being on his boat, the “Family Time”. Joel most loved his family. He treasured all the times that they could be together. He will be missed by those he loved and those that loved him. Joel is survived by his wife of 20 years, Lynne (Tilman) Kalman, a daughter Ashley E. Kalman, adopted daughter, Elizabeth (Wise) Cundiff (Ian), sisters: Janis Parks and Joyce K. Gresh (Don) all of Charleston. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins that will treasure his memory. Joel also leaves behind his four legged child Lottie. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Irwin (Kal) Kalman, David Kalman, and a sister: Diane Kalman. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced.
