Obituary of Scott Forbes

SCOTT LARRIMORE FORBES, 60, of North Charleston, SC passed away September 8, 2017 in Charleston, SC. He was born on July 14, 1957 at the Old Naval Hospital, Charleston to Marvin and Charlie Faye (Howell) Forbes. Scott is survived by his mother, Charlie Faye (Howell) Forbes, and his sisters, Missy Knoepfel (Rick) and Heather Holland (Bill). He was preceded in death by his father, a sister, Sharis “Tuffy” Elaine Evans, and his “Mema” Mae Wethington Howell. The family will receive friends at the Shield of Faith Church at 1612 Foster Creek Road, in Hanahan, SC on Sept. 15 from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be at the church on Sept. 16 at 2 pm with Pastor Bob Tilton officiating with remembrances from Scott’s former pastor, Bill Davis, of Blessed Hope Baptist Church. Interment will be at Carolina Memorial Gardens. Scott started out in life with many strikes against him which caused limitations, but he pushed ahead against the challenges and persisted with his goal of being the best he could be. Life handed him lemons, but he loved lemonade. He also loved his family, his train collection, the beach, and being his mom’s helper/protector. He is also known for his hobby of videotaping special events. He loved Christmas, and this year he’ll be home with the One who is Christmas. His number one achievement was accepting Jesus as his Savior at age 11 in Agana, Guam, and he would tell you all about it. Scott was a sower of the Word, loving, innocent, kind, forgiving, fun, loyal, thankful, hardworking and responsible. He was a credit to his family and a gift from God, and will be sorely missed. He’s not far away just close by through an open door. He was planning the ultimate trip for his 60th birthday, but had to change his plans making the most spectacular trip instead.
