Jenise Keeling

Obituary of Jenise Keeling

Jenise Keeling, age 75, on August 31, 2017, went to her eternal home in heaven while surrounded in love with family by her side. Jenise nourished the people around her with her love, faith, laughter, and her awesome good ole’ southern cooking! Born on October 24, 1941 in Andrews, SC, she was the 3rd of 6 children, raised in a home worshiping the Lord and singing in the church choir with her beautiful voice. She met her future husband and father of her children, Douglas Keeling, (who preceded her in death), while at a tent revival. He was in the U.S. Navy and they traveled and lived all over the world, including Africa, Hawaii, Ireland, California, Florida, Maryland, and South Carolina, all while having 6 children within 8 years who were each born in different locations! Though she had traveled the world, South Carolina was always her home and she visited as often as possible. After 20 years of traveling, they finally retired from the military and came back home to South Carolina, where she never left again. She loved her entire family and had an amazing relationship with her parents and siblings. She will always be remembered as one who made everyone laugh with her natural sense of humor. She loved the sound of laughter. If anyone asked her she would tell you her greatest accomplishment in life was her children. She was an amazing mother, Mimi, sister, aunt, and friend. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Viola Daisy Keeling, her granddaughter, Dorothy Danielle Johnston, her parents, Kirkland and Viola Spring, and her beloved only brother, Kirkland “David” Spring, Jr. She is survived by her children, Tina (Michael) Vinciguerra, Robin (Dean) Murphy, Craig Keeling, Crystal Olesh, and Sean Keeling, also her “daughter in law” Lisa Majano, her grandchildren, Steffany (Stephen) Allen, Steven (Leanne) LeBlanc, Kelsey (Joel) Niday, Haleigh Murphy, Jennifer Olesh (Roland Stone) Mike (Meghan) Olesh, Brandon Olesh, Matthew (McKenna) Olesh Hayden Olesh, and Dana Johnston, the spouse of her deceased granddaughter Dorothy, her great-grandchildren, Kylee Allen, Jackson, Jaycie, and Jamison LeBlanc, Kelli, Lydia, and Nixon Niday,Alex and Lily Robinson, Saylor Murphy, and Baylor Olesh. She also leaves behind her sisters, Betty Moore, Kitty Cumbee, Labay Wade, and Cindy Smith, her sister-in-law, Pat Spring, many nieces and nephews, and last but not least, her spoiled rotten dogs, Mia, T-Bone and TJ. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Hospice Care of South Carolina, especially her nurse, Wendy Czajka, Chaplain Bonnie Torrence, and Social Worker Lauren Clarke for their amazing and caring attention. The family will receive friends and loved ones on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Simplicity: Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services (281 Treeland Drive, Ladson, SC 29456). A funeral service will take place in their chapel at 1:00 p.m., followed by graveside services at Plantation Memorial Gardens in Moncks Corner, SC.
