Obituary of John Walter Kessler

John Walter Kessler, 57, of John’s Island SC, passed from this world on July 29th, 2017 with his wife and daughter by his side. John was born in Long Beach, CA on April 5th 1960 to Howard James Kessler and Sharon Patricia Kessler. He was the second of three boys. Sharon would give him a sister and two more brothers in her second marriage. John lived in California, Washington, and Massachusetts before settling in South Carolina where he was happiest thanks to the year around motorcycle riding weather and his wife, Cindy Kessler, sitting right behind him on every ride. John brought a smile to anyone’s face who knew him. His life afforded him the ability to connect with and empathize with people from various walks of life. He was strong, compassionate, loyal, loving, funny and direct. He had the best laugh, especially at your expense. He loved so deeply, and you saw it most around his family. John was met in Heaven with the open arms of his family that left before him. John is survived by his mother, Sharon Patricia Bassett of Petersham, MA, his wife, Cindy Kessler of John’s Island, SC, his children Roxanna (Rocky) King, Jacquline Drain, Caroline Sewell and Andrew Sewell. He also leaves behind 5 siblings, Ronald J. Kessler, Thomas Michael Kessler, Serena L. Bassett, Theodor Arthur Bassett, and Tobias Ashley Bassett and three grandchildren, Ashley, Jozlyn, and Malachi. John’s memory will live on through those lives he touched but, he will be missed deeply every day.
