Obituary of Gwendolyn A. Buchanan

Gwendolyn A. Buchanan, 81, of Ridgeville, passed away Monday, July 10th. Gwendolyn A Buchanan,81, of Ridgeville, formerly North Charleston, passed away peacefully at home on July 10, 2017. Visitation will be held at Simplicity, 7475 Peppermill Parkway North Charleston, SC, on Friday, July 14 at 11:00 am. Funeral service will be held at Simplicity on Friday July 14 at 1200 noon with Pastor Duane Woosley of St Matthews Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Cemetery. Simplicity is handling the funeral arrangements. Gwendolyn was born January 10, 1936 to Robert Allen and Corrie R Ackerman in Cottageville SC. She went to school at Cottageville and graduated in 1953. She most recently worked at Remount Daycare taking care of the children. She also enjoyed assisting those who were of need in their homes, preparing meals and providing fellowship and companionship She most enjoyed her time serving her church and the members. Serving her Lord was a blessing for her. Gwendolyn is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Corrie.and her late husband Milton L Buchanan, her daughter Patricia Buchanan, sisters Eunice Drennon, Sally Rhodes and Reba Floyd. Surviving are her 2 daughters Amanda Buchanan of Ridgeville and Linda McDaniel (Charles) of North Charleston. Also surviving are grandchildren Kristin Crowe (Ralph), Katie Osepchook (AJ), Chase McDaniel, and great grandchildren Amanda DuRant, Emily Howlett and Tucker Osepchook. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Lutheran Hospice of Charleston, 1885 Rifle Range Road, STE 46, Mt Pleasant, SC 29464 The family would like to express their gratitude to Lutheran Hospice for the loving care provided during her final days.
