Obituary of Joe Mack Richey

Mr. Joe Mack Richey went to meet his Lord peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on June 21st in Goose Creek, South Carolina at the age of 80. Joe is survived by his wife of 43 years Geneva Richey of Goose Creek, South Carolina. His siblings Johnny Richey, Anne Charping, and Jane Richey. His daughters Holly Carroll, Lynn Dobson, Fran Richey, Ellen Richey, Beth Hollaman, Penny Stokes, Billie Cason, and Pamela Bickle. 31 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents James and Verlean Richey, his sister Sue Madden and sister-in-law Nancy Richey, and daughters Lisa Wright and Theresa Rentschler. Joe was born on September 30, 1936 in Piedmont, South Carolina to James E. Richey and Verlean MackAdams Richey. He graduated from Piedmont high school in 1955. After serving in the United States Air Force he moved to Goose Creek, South Carolina and worked 40 years until retirement at the Westváco Papermill. He was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Goose Creek, South Carolina. The visitation and funeral is scheduled for Monday on June 26th at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Raymond Craven will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of Mr. Joe Richey.
