Obituary of Matthew Paul Minahan

Matthew Paul Minahan , 66 , of North Charleston , South Carolina passed away June 10, 2017 at his home in North Charleston , South Carolina . He was born on December 18, 1950 in Chippewa Falls , Wisconsin to Bert and Vivianne (Valentine ) Minahan . Matthew is survived by his wife Cheri (Gresh) Minahan, a son, Michael Minahan (Preesa Bullington), daughters: Heidi Minahan Johnson (Kit), Jessica Minahan White (Richard), Michelle Minahan Thompson (Paul) and grandchildren: Ariana (5), James (3), Josephine (3), Isaac (18 months), Olivia (18 months). He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Vivianne Minahan and his brother, John Minahan who also passed on June 10, 2017. Matt was a very godly man who deeply loved and served his family. His Christ-like love was evident not only in his commitment to his family but also through his passion for cultivating meaningful relationships with everyone he met, and serving their individual needs. The family will receive friends at Northside Baptist Church on June 13, 2017 from 5:00PM – 7:00PM. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on June 14, 2017 at Northside Baptist Church 7800 Northside Drive, North Charleston SC, 29420 with a short visitation at 12:00PM. Interment will be at Beaufort National Cemetery, on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 10 AM. Matt will be escorted by the Patriot Guard Riders. Matt was an avid supporter of Christian education. Memorials may be made to the “Northside Christian School Scholarship Fund,” located at 7800 Northside Drive, North Charleston, SC 29420.
