Obituary of Clyde Davis Nettles
Moncks Corner, SC
April 3rd, 2020, my father died at home, today, of pneumonia.
November 16, 1924, Clyde Davis Nettles was born near Lake City, SC
Though he served as an army paratrooper during WWII, he never spoke of it.
Married to Mary Helen Floyd in 1948. Three daughters completed the family.
He moved his family to San Diego, CA in 1956 and worked for the aircraft industry until his retirement.
Summertime visits to SC kept family ties strong.
In my mind, he wears a crown of jewels.
Each jewel signifying his love for animals and their care.
His arms, always carrying his beloved little dogs Chico and Angel.
His love of horticulture; providing food for family, friends and neighbors.
His love of mental stimulation; always challenging us with mystifying puzzles.
His love of cards, whether solitaire or opponent games; his favorite spice for a hungry brain.
His love of family.
In 2016, Mom and Daddy moved to Moncks Corner, hoping heavenly SC would bring harmony to their lives.
Thankfully, an angel lived across the road; offering love and assistance. Louise Taylor.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Helen Nettles;
his daughter, Ali Sabour and her daughters Traci Presley and Nikki Zekas, and great-grand-son Cody Alves, (son of Traci);
Christopher Glover (son of Melanie), great-grand-daughter, Cali, and great-great-grand-daughter Aurora;
Erin and Mark Wolcott; (Bonnie’s daughter and son);
and his brother; Don E. Nettles.
We send love to you.
Xoxo
