Obituary of Rachel Kirby

Rachel Grooms Kirby, 79,  of North Charleston, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at her home with her family on Tuesday, June 16, 2020.   Rachel was born on October 19, 1940 in Orangeburg County, South Carolina.  She was the daughter of the late Marion Henry Grooms and Raye Ruple Grooms.  She is survived by her three children, two sisters, five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.  Rachel lived life on her terms until the very end. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  She was dearly loved and will be terribly missed by all of her family and friends.   Services will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local animal shelter or Hospice of Charleston.
