Obituary of Jarrell Timothy Staples

Jarrell Timothy “Tim” Staples, 69 of Columbia, S.C. passed away Thursday March 8, 2018, at Trident Hospital in North Charleston. A celebration of life will be held in his honor at 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 24 at Kilbourne Park Baptist Church, 4205 Kilbourne Road, Columbia, S.C. 29206. Tim was born on May 1, 1948 in Columbia, SC to Willard and Kay Staples. He graduated from AC Flora High School in 1966, and then attend the University of South Carolina. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked in the insurance business after the war. He loved spending time with friends and family. Tim was a likable guy who will be remembered for his happy attitude and giving nature. He literally never met a stranger. Tim is survived by his son Timothy Clayton “Clay” Staples and his wife Allison Staples of Chapin SC and two grandsons, Sullivan and Campbell Staples, his sister Katherine Mathis and her husband Dave of Summerville S.C. and nephews Randy and Dusty Harbeson, great nephews Dylan and Riley Harbeson, his beloved Aunt Margie Slice and several other aunts and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Robert Tuel Staples. Memorials may be made to Kilbourne Park Baptist Church General Fund.
