Obituary of Henry Gillard
Henry Gillard, 75, of North Charleston was called home to be with our Heavenly Father on June 14, 2020. He was born March 1, 1945, in Tabor City, North Carolina to Lucille Green and Isaiah Felder. From an early age, he was raised by Shelly and Lessie Felks. He attended the public schools in Orangeburg County and could accomplish anything he set his mind to. He worked at Exxon in Charleston, SC for many years as a fork lift operator.
Henry had many interests, including fishing, bike riding, watching sports, visiting neighbors in the community and a love for dogs. In the latter years of his life, he became quite the handyman and enjoyed assisting his neighbors with various tasks.
Mr. Gillard was preceded in death by his sisters Rachel Coards and Marie Waring. He is survived by his son Angelo Gilliard of Charleston, SC, three daughters, Keonia Gilliard and Enisha (Marlon) Adams of Orangeburg and Sarita (Christopher) Abraham of Columbia, SC and a sister, Mary Mazyck of North Charleston, SC.
He will also be missed by a close cousin Dorothy Barnes, a special friend and his seven grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
A private memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at 11:00 am at Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services in North Charleston, SC. In an effort to adhere to COVID-19 precautions regarding social distancing, the family requests that friends do not visit the residence; however, condolences may be expressed via telephone to his daughter Keonia Gilliard, his sister Mary Mazyck or Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services.
