Obituary of Robert A Laidlaw

Robert A Laidlaw (Bob) (Uncle Junkle), 88, of Ravenel, SC entered into eternal rest Monday August 10, 2020.

Bob was born in Portland, Maine on February 20, 1932 to Robert H. Laidlaw and Marie R. Nash. He went on to join the Military where he served in the Korean War and later retired after many years of service in the Navy and Reserves. Bob worked for Gates Rubber Company, where after many years there he retired.

Bob enjoyed spending his time working at the Ladson Flea Market on weekends. He also enjoyed spoiling his sons and grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending time with friends and family as well as going to church and being a proud Catholic. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament at St. Joseph’s Catholic Churches.

He will be remembered for his contagious smile, energetic personality, fantastic sense of humor, his more than giving nature, and along with the love of a good joke.

Bob is survived by his son James (Jimmy) Laidlaw, grandchildren; Amanda (Chris), Beth (Brent), Emily, Alexis and Rebecca, Great Grandchildren; Aniah, Aleigha, CJ, Cayden, Ava, Hunter and Paisley, Brother; Ronald E. Laidlaw (Bonnie) and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his late ex-wife Linda F. Moore, his son Robert F. Laidlaw, brothers Richard and Jack Laidlaw and Sister Gail Laidlaw Jones.

Visitation will be held from 12-1 pm on August 17, 2020 with funeral services to follow.
