Obituary of Robert Everett Vendrick

Robert Everett Vendrick, of Charleston, died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at the age of 82.

Robert was born in Arapahoe, NC on May 10, 1938, the son of the late Lonnie Ned Vendrick, Sr., and Lou Ellen Murphy.

Robert loved hunting and fishing and was famous for his chicken bog. He loved spending time with all his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Shirley Phifer Vendrick, of Charleston. He is also survived by his 5 children, Brenda Bloomingburg, Veronica Goff (Ray), Robert Vendrick, Jr., (Kimberly), Steven Vendrick (Connie), and Melissa Vendrick (Earle Phillips) all of Charleston, his Grandchildren Miranda Campbell (Timmy), Jim Bloomingburg (Karen), Kimberlee Auerbach (Derrick), Matt Bloomingburg (Miranda Conway), Danny Goff (Julie), Caroline Vendrick (George Rivers), Bradley Phillips, and Allen Phillips. Robert also had 12 great-grandchildren Bailey, Peyton, Grayson, Kohen, Riley, Tobie, Kai, Everett, Mason, Danni Mae, Kynslee, and King and 2 step great-grand daughters McKenzee and Courtney.

Robert was preceded in death by his son-in-law, John Bloomingburg.

Robert has 6 siblings, Mary Ellen Howell, Ned Vendrick Jr., James “Tommy” Lewis, Richard Murphy, Jack Vendrick, and Beverly Bowman.
