Sandra Mott

Obituary of Sandra Mott

Sandra Louise Mellichamp Mott, loving and dedicated wife of Henry Neal Mott journeyed to her heavenly home the morning of August 20, 2020 at 645am.

Sandi was the daughter of Mattie Lou Blitch Mellichamp and Captain Paul K. Mellichamp. Sandi was born in Hawaii on October 27, 1940.

Sandi was retired from Hill-Rom after 25 years in which she worked in bookkeeping and taxes for the company. Most recently Sandi worked at Carolina Bay Church in West Ashley as Church Secretary and Bookkeeper.

Sandi loved the Lord Jesus Christ and displayed this love in all she said and did which included through serving  and singing in church choirs since a young girl and loved singing at Charleston Baptist Church through the Adult Celebration Choir, volunteering with the children’s choir and leading in prayer/praise time in her Lamplighters Sunday School Class. Sandi had a goal to make it to her 50th Wedding Anniversary in which she did on August 7.

Sandi was the matriarch and glue that kept her family together. She would do anything for her family because the love she had for her family ran deep. This love was evident in the last several days of her life as she fought to stay with her family as long as possible and at the same time was ready to go to heaven to be reunited with her family.

Sandi is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 50 years Neal Mott, son Fil Sires (Ashley), daughter Debi Sires Nicholson (Rev. Tim), son Paul Mott and grandchildren April Sires, Mattie Sires and Bo Sires.

The family would like to thank Intrepid Hospice Staff especially Jean Partridge her nurse, Deborah Green her Certified Nursing Assistant, Whitney Musgrave her Social Worker and Rev. Joseph Kamau her Chaplain. We also thank Jim, Jamie and Joel from Simplicity for the help and compassion given to us.

A Private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date due to Covid-19.
