Obituary of Barbara S Burkett

Barbara Snyder Burkett, 82, Charleston, Sc. Date of death, 6-19-2016. Occupation- homemaker and she worked in the maintenance department at Blessed Sacrament Church and School for 16 years. Where she was also a member for 75 years. Barbara was devoted to her children, grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She attended Catholic schools in Charleston and was a graduate of St. Andrews High School. She was predeceased by her parents William L. “Boots” Smith and Edna Genevieve Sharlock Smith of Charleston. She was also predeceased in death by her husband John Edward Snyder, second husband James LeRoy Burkett, sons, Ronald E. Snyder, William L. Snyder, daughter, Maria Barrs McIntosh, grandchildren, Robert J. Snyder, and Ronda Michelle Brown, sisters, Kathleen S. Utley and Rita Burn, brothers, Francis Joseph Smith, William E. Smith, Charles L. Smith, and Walter E. Smith. Surviving are her daughter Sherry Snyder Tindall, Charleston, Sc, and two brothers, Ronald E. Smith, Lake Worth, Fl. and Joseph Edward Sweeney, Charleston, Sc. and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. Memorial Mass will be held this Saturday June 25, 2016 at 11:00 o’clock at Blessed Sacrament Church, 6 St. Teresa Dr. Charleston, SC. Memorial contributions can be made to Blessed Sacrament Church and School. Arrangements are by Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation & Burial Services.
