Obituary of Charles William Sayles

Charles William "Chuck" Sayles, 70, of Ladson South Carolina, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2018, at Ralph H. Johnson VA Hospital.  He was born in Culpeper County, Virginia to George and Ethel Sayles on January 9, 1948.

Chuck was extremely proud to be an Army Veteran and received a Purple Heart during his 2 tours to Vietnam and his 2 trips around the world. Chuck was passionate about his music and enjoyed playing his guitars. Running his collection of trains and his RC cars with his grandkids filled his heart with joy.  Chuck never lost his love for tinkering, fixing things and working on his old truck.

Chuck has always put his family first and is survived by his soul mate and best friend Margaret (Marge) Sayles, his mother Ethel Sayles, his 3 daughters Margaret (Joseph) Miller, Tiffany (Phillip) Summerfield and Dawn (John Smith).  Chuck absolutely loves his grandchildren Charles Sayles, Joseph Miller, Hayden Sayles, Conner Kammerer, Erica Boswell (Jason), Elisabeth Smith, great-grandson Tyler Boswell and 3 brothers-in-law, John Gallagher, Matthew Gallagher and William (Vicki) Gallagher and nephew Brian Gallagher. He is also survived by a large host of loving Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

The family would like to extend a welcome to all friends and family to the Memorial Service for Chuck at St. James Baptist Church, 7353 Botha Rd., Bealeton, VA 22712 on June 2, 2018 at 11am.
