Albert Pasquino, Sr.

Obituary of Albert Pasquino, Sr.

Albert Pasquino, Sr. was born May 13, 1931 in Paulsboro, NJ to Luigi and Fiorigia (Florence) Pasquino and died early Saturday morning, January 2, 2021. After graduation from Paulsboro High School in 1948, Al joined the Air Force.  While stationed in England, he met Barbara Capes on a blind date, and they were married in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, England on February 9, 1952.  Barbara and Al were married for 66 years and lived over 45 years in King’s Grant (Summerville) until her passing in 2018.

After 22-1/2 years in the Air Force, Al retired as Senior Master Sergeant, having served in two wars/conflicts (Korea and Viet Nam), overseas assignments in England and Germany as well as Washington, DC, Laughlin AFB (Del Rio, Texas), and Charleston AFB.  Al then worked for the Summerville Post Office where his first assignment was also his favorite – delivering mail to downtown Summerville businesses on a Schwinn bicycle with leather satchels of mail in the large front basket.  After 18 years, Al retired for a second time.  Because of his many years as an accountant in the Air Force, Al worked with H&R Block during the tax season before retiring for the third and final time.

Al is survived by his seven children - Helen Pasquino Smith, James Pasquino (Gwen), Denise Pasquino Sahlmann, David Pasquino (Angela), Joy Pasquino Hancock, Teresa Pasquino Sinteff (Mike) and Albert Pasquino Jr. (Robyn); 18 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren.  He was pre-deceased by his wife, parents, two brothers (Louis & Jerry Pasquino), sister (Carmella Pasquino Tierno), nephew (Thomas Pasquino) and grandson (Bryan Sahlmann).

The family will have a private service at a date to be determined.  Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation South Carolina Chapter, or Veterans Victory House in Walterboro, SC.  The family is thankful and appreciative for the dedicated care provided by all of the staff at Veterans Victory House.
