Obituary of Ralph Miller

Mr Ralph Miller, 100, former resident of West Union passed away peacefully, at home on November 5th, 2016. Ralph was born February 7th, 1916 in the Oakgrove Community, son of Irvin Monroe and Hattie Smith Miller. Ralph, a well know merchant and owner of the Walhalla Radio and T. V. Service on Main Street, Walhalla, became one of the Zenith Corporation’s most successful dealers as television sets in the home became the center of family entrainment in the sixties. A celebration service will be held at 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at the First Baptist Church, 403 E. Main Street, Walhalla, S.C. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, 1183 Coffee Road, Walhalla, SC. Surviving are his wife, Betty Ruth Miller and daughter, Joan Miller Rugheimer Clute of Charleston, S.C. Step-children: Rita Waycaster Arnold (Richard), Seneca, John D. Waycaster (Krystal), Westminster, and William Bill Kinsey (Susan) Cudjo Key, Fl. Three Grandchildren: Kristin R. DuPree (Kevin), John Peter Rugheimer, III, and S. Kalyn Clute. Seven great-grandchildren, Carter, Jacob and Lucas DuPree and Taylor, Meagin, McKenna and John Rugheimer, IV., all of Charleston. Nine Step-grandchildren, Shannon, Brandy and Don Neal; David, Brandon and Cam’ron Waycaster; Will, Ali and Sean Kinsey. Six step- grandchildren, Jennifer, Logan, Maddie, Ava, Adam and Andrew Neal. He is preceded in death by his parents: Six brothers: Bill, Clarence, Johnny, Ed, Ervin, Charlie: Sister: Mary M. Hyder. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Walhalla First Baptist Church Food Bank. Simplicity Lowcountry Cremations is in charge of the arrangements.
