Obituary of William Bailey Durant

     William Bailey "Billy" Durant, 84, of Summerville, SC, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021.  Billy was born in Horry County, and was the son of Rufus Lee Durant and Ruth Strickland Durant.  A retired Machine Operator at Westvaco, a Diesel Engine Mechanic from Cummins Engine and Aircraft Mechanic at Avco Lycoming.

     In addition to his parents, he was predeceased in death by his sisters, Hazel McClure and Betty Jean Durant.

     Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Blanche Faye Lane Durant, three daughters: Lisa Smith of Early Branch, South Carolina, Angela Ritter and husband, Mike, of Charleston, South Carolina, and Wendy Kizer and husband, Chip, of Goose Creek, South Carolina. Five Grandchildren: Paul Smith, Timmy Smith, Eddie Smith, Ashlyn Ritter and Bailey Kizer, and seven great-grandchildren.  A brother, Lee Bradford Durant (Barbara) of Rockwood, Tennessee, and sisters, Lorene Feagley (Rex) of Anderson, South Carolina, and Annette Umphlett of New London, Connecticut.

 Due to the pandemic we will not be having a Memorial Service.
