Obituary of Marie Warren Godley

Marie Warren Godley 

of Moncks Corner and Charleston, SC

We mourn the passing of Marie Godley, beloved mother, sister, educator, and friend. Marie worked tirelessly for four decades to empower Lowcountry youth through education as a public school, Sunday school, and Bible school teacher, as well as mentor and friend. Her spirit of both enlightenment and compassion long outlive her on this Earth, as she touched the hearts of so many who knew her.

Marie is survived by her children, David Godley and Chrissy Godley of North Charleston, sister Margaret Warren of Ladson, and brother Tom Warren of Columbia.

Marie will be interred at Circular Congregational Church of Charleston, with memorial services deferred due to the ongoing pandemic. 

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her honor to Communities in Schools and the Arbor Day Foundation.
