Obituary of Johnny Lawrence Broome

Johnny Lawrence Broome, of St. Stephen, SC, loving husband of Pamela Rollings Broome, entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 19, 2021. 

Johnny was born on February 17, 1955 in Bamberg, SC.  He was the son of Martha Fowler Broome and the late Rev William Harold Broome. He served the Town of St. Stephen as the Town Administrator for 24 years until his retirement in 2017.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years Pamela Rollings Broome; mother Martha Fowler Broome; children Rhett Broome (Cyndi), Lauren Gott (Travis), Shari Stepanov (SSgt.Yuriy), and William Broome (Kristen); grandson Luke Gott; step-grandchildren Lt. Col. Patrick Southerland (Marianne) and Heather Ridgeway (Charlie); 4 step-great grandchildren; sisters Brenda Morgan (Fred Sr.) and Cynthia Wadford (Willie); and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The family is having a visitation on Friday, February 26 at 2:00p.m. at Harristown Baptist Church for anyone wanting to offer their condolences.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Carolina Childrens Charity (www.carolinachildren.org); P.O. Box 30068, Charleston, SC 29417.

Due to COVID-19 the family requests masks be worn, and social distancing be observed at the visitation.
