Obituary of James David Walters

James David (“JD”) Walters, 74, of Ladson, SC, the husband of Mary F. Walters (Fischer) for 52 years, entered into eternal rest on February 24, 2021 peacefully at home. Born on July 11, 1946 in Saint George, SC, JD was the son of Marion Franklin Walters and Iris Sandifer Walters.  He had a long career with SCANA, retiring as an electrical inspector, and he also served in the US Army. He was a member of Dorchester Masonic Lodge #369. JD will be remembered as a quiet family man who was a talented cook, a cultivator of terrific tomatoes, and an avid hunter, fisherman, and shrimper.

JD is survived by his daughters, Kimberly D. Walters and Jennifer W. McMurtry(Shon); grandchildren Elizabeth A. Beck (fiancé Cameron Covington) , Rebekah A. Walters (fiancé Hunter Watson), Bryce W. McMurtry and Brayden J. McMurtry; great- grandson, Hudson R. Covington; sisters Barbara J. Simmons (James) and Patricia W. Hotard and many nieces and nephews. JD was predeceased by his parents and his brothers Danny L. Walters and Alton Metts. 

His wife and family will honor his wishes for no services or memorials.
