Obituary of Shelva Blair Lewis

Shelva Blair Lewis, 83, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, March 29, 2021. Shelva
was born on April 30, 1937 to Myrtle and Edward Blair. She was the oldest of seven children.
Three brothers preceded her in death: Charles, Richard, and Joe Blair; two surviving sisters,
Shirley Barrier and Glenda (Ray) Larsen; and one surviving brother Williard (Betty) Blair. Shelva
married the love of her life, C. Roland Lewis on April 29, 1956.They had three children; Donna
(Earl) Mayes, Chuck (Cherie) Lewis, and Scott Lewis. She is also survived by three
grandchildren; Samantha Mayes, Chad Mayes, and Jeffrey (Jessica) Tinsley, parents of her
seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Shelva was a
beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. Over the years, Shelva was
a caregiver to over 100 children who affectionately referred to her as their “2nd mom”. Services
will be held at Centerpoint Baptist Church, formerly Remount Baptist Church. Public viewing will
be held 12:30-1:30 pm with service to start at 1:30 pm on April 2, 2021. Shelva will be interred
Monday, April 5, 2021 in a private family service. Flowers or a donation to the Alzheimer’s
Association would be gratefully accepted.
