My deepest sympathies from my family to yours. Dana is an irreplaceable person who touched so many people's lives. I didn't know him as a child because I didn't move to the Summerville area until I was a pre-teen, but I was an awkward kid who was a tomboy and got picked on a lot. Dana was a few grades higher than I was and he was nice to me. Eighteen years after the fact and I still remember him telling me that my new hair cut looked nice in class. Which seems silly to remember, but very few people said nice things to me then. I ran in to him years later after high school and he didn't have anything else to do so he went to the aquarium with me, my friends and our kids; I knew then he was going to an awesome dad because he had just as much fun as our toddlers did. My heart aches for Dana's babies and wife because he had so much more love to give them and so much more kindness to give the world. I only hope I'm raising my kids to be as kind and genuine as Dana was. He will never be forgotten.
