Obituary of Lewis Murray West

Lewis Murray West, 56, of Summerville, SC passed away Sunday June 6th, 2021.   The memorial service will be on Saturday June 19th, 2021 at 11:00AM and is to be held at North  Trident Baptist Church located 9939 Jamison Road Ladson, SC 29456. Lewis was born on  August 25th, 1964.  Growing up in Charleston, he was a graduate of Charleston Heights Baptist school and by that time already working with his dad at Carolina  Auto Electric.  Lewis loved just about anything that meant being on the water and in the boat as he was an avid fisherman.   The only thing that could surpass his love of the water were those he considered family and friends. One of the only true kindred spirits, Lewis had a personality and sense of humor that could be matched by none and would come to form his legendary legacy.  Lewis is survived by his son, Lewis Murray West II, granddaughter, Piper  Adelaide West, and daughter, Makayla Caroline West (Cooper Hinson), and his parents; Mother, Carolyn West, and father, Norwood (Buddy) West of Summerville, SC.  His other surviving family includes his little sister, Vicky Mullis (Brad) of Newnan, GA  and brother Michael West (Joyce) of Cottageville, SC and his nieces and nephews.  Lewis made everyone feel as though they were family, which can be told by anyone under the canopy that was his vast extension of spiritual family throughout his fishing and motorcycle buddies.  In lieu of flowers, please make all donations to North  Trident Baptist Church.
