He was preceded in death by his brother John “Jack” Schoonover.

Growing up in the beautiful Susquehanna River valley, Ed developed a love for hunting, fishing, the outdoors, and firearms. Ed graduated from Northeast Bradford High School, Rome, PA in 1969 and Columbia College, Columbia, MO in 1980.

In 1975, Ed entered the United States Air Force and served for 23 years, retiring honorably as a Master Sergeant with many awards. His distinguished career as a Crew Chief/ Flight Line Maintenance and Production Supervisor took him to several states and countries, serving in all the major Air Force Commands.
