William Burnsed

Obituary of William Farley Burnsed

William “Bill” Farley  Burnsed, age 72, was born on August  14, 1945, God brought him home on the 6th of July, 2018. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and LeVeta  Burnsed and his brother, David Lester Burnsed. He is survived by his loving wife Jan, close family, and wonderful neighbors. Bill grew up in the City of Charleston. Amongst many of his great accomplishments in life, he was extremely proud and honored to serve his country in the Army Reserves.

Bill was passionate about baseball and well known as “Fireball Burnsed” by the Charleston City Baseball League at Hampton Park Playground. After many years of hard work he retired and was able to enjoy; his love for fishing, NASCAR, old cars, and the occasional adventure.

Bill had enumerable talents; especially, wood working, drawing, oil painting and playing the guitar. There wasn’t anything that he couldn’t fix; design, build, repair or refurbish. Above all, the greatest and most important thing he ever built was the legacy of love and service to his family and closest friends. A man of few words, his smile alone spoke volumes and in his voice, grace.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

There will be a family and friends gathering to celebrate Bill’s life, in the main chapel of Simplicity Lowcountry Funeral Home, on  July 12,  2018 from 2pm – 3pm. 7475 Peppermill Pkwy North Charleston, SC 29418

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Charleston 676 Wando Park Blvd. Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464 or The American Cancer Society P. O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
