Obituary of Jack Murray Terrell

Jack Murray Terrell, 73, of Ravenel, South Carolina, husband of Elisa Welch Terrell, entered into eternal rest Saturday, October 23, 2021.  A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held November 20, 2021 at Carolina Bay Church, 2927 Savannah Highway at 11:00 a.m.  A private burial will be at Beaufort National Cemetery at a later date.  Arrangements made by Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation and Burial.

Jack was born February 18, 1948 in Honey Grove, Texas, the son of the late Curtis Leon Terrell and Ina Jewel Corley Terrell.  He graduated from Honey Grove High School and proudly joined the United States Marine Corps on October 31, 1967.  He served in two Tete offenses in Vietnam and was Honorably Discharged in 1974.  Following his service in the Corps, he worked for Pan American Airways and Service Master.  It may surprise a few people to know that Jack was once the owner of a Scandinavian gift shop in Gig Harbor, Washington.  He began his career with the Veterans Administration as a housekeeper and worked his way up to retire in 2000 as Chief of Environmental Management Service at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center.

Jack was a Deacon at Carolina Bay Church where he was an active member for twelve years.  He enjoyed fishing, cooking and canning, and working in his garden.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of twenty years, Elisa Welch Terrell of Ravenel, SC; daughter Tricia Terrell Wiles of Ravenel, SC; stepdaughter Nicole Lukasavage Kernodle (Bay) of James Island, SC; stepson Jeffrey Michael Lukasavage of Ravenel, SC;
