Obituary of William Harold Lindenberg

Lindenberg, William Harold of Ladson, SC. Husband of Esther Jerl Young Lindenberg entered into eternal rest on April 6, 2016. Harold was born April 12, 1929 in Charleston, SC. son of the late Maxwell Theodore Lindenberg and Louise Stender Lindenberg. He graduated from Murray Vocational School in 1947 and was employed by the Charleston Naval Shipyard, later leaving to serve with the US Navy as an Electronics Technician. Returning to the Naval Shipyard after eventually leaving the Navy, he was assigned to the electronics shop. Later he was reassigned to the Combat Systems Office. In 1974, he transferred to The Naval Electronic Systems Engineering Center in Charleston where he retired after 33 years of federal service. He was active in the Lutheran Church for many years and was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church, North Charleston, SC. He is survived by his beloved wife Esther of 65 years and his two brothers, Frederick A. (Diane) Lindenberg of Birmingham, AL. and Robert M. (Betty Sue) Lindenberg of Holly Hill, SC., and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother Maxwell T. (Regina) Lindenberg, Jr. of Ft. Walton Beach, FL. Funeral services will be held at Peace Lutheran Church at 10 AM on Monday April 11, 2016 (8315 Dorchester Rd, North Charleston, SC 29418). Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery, Charleston, SC. Arrangements are by Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation & Burial Services.
