Lavon Theresa Massey 

June 19, 1938 - January 15, 2022

Lavon Massey, 83, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2022. Lavon Massey was born in Ecorse Township, Michigan on June 19, 1938, to Audra Rose and William Joseph Steinman.

Lavon Massey worked as an Intake Clerk for Charleston County Department of Social Services for 28 years and thoroughly enjoyed reciting the rosary, needlepointing and crocheting. Lavon was also a proud member of the Columbiettes and bestowed with the honor of being President of the Local AMVETS Women’s Auxiliary. 

Lavon is survived by her loving husband of 64 years Roy Lowell Massey, her 5 beloved children: Shelia Stopa, Alice Bragg (Mark), Roy Massey, Jr.(Beverly), Michael Massey, Tracy Flores (Michael), 9 grandchildren, and12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, 1 grandchild and 1 great-grandchild.

Memorial Services will be held at St. Thomas Church.
