Obituary of Anthony Cadena

Anthony Cadena was  born in San Antonio, Texas on September 10, 1954. Born to Hortensia A. Weber and Salvador Cadena Sr. Anthony was raised by his mother, Hortensia A. Weber and his step-father Gilbert A. Weber.  

Anthony, growing up in a Military Family, has lived in places such as Okinawa, Japan. The family settled in the West Ashley area upon returning to the States.  After graduating from high school, Anthony entered into a career with the South Carolina State Ports Authority where he worked for 31 years until he retired.  

Anthony is  survived by his  sisters Sylvia Jacobs of Charleston, SC  and Connie H. Desilets of Hanahan, SC as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his partner Phyllis Summers; Sister, Carmen Bayman; his brother, Salvador Cadena, Jr; his mother, Hortensia A. Weber;  his father, Salvador Cadena, Sr; and Step-father, Gilbert A. Weber.  

Anthony enjoyed building models of tanks, airplanes of WWII, Surfing, coin collecting and weight lifting.  He was loved by his family and several close friends and will be greatly missed. 

Anthony’s struggles, later in life with his health, eventually took a toll on his overall well being.  The family of Anthony Cadena kindly request that any donations should be made to the Kidney Foundation or the American Cancer Society in his memory.
