Obituary of Helen L. Lane

Helen L. Lane, age 96, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022 on Hilton Head Island, SC, where she resided for the past three years.

Helen was born on Dec 13, 1925 in Trafford, PA, the daughter of the late Frank Sr. and Anna (Kristinc) Baric. Helen attended Trafford High School and graduated in 1944 as valedictorian of her class. Helen worked as a secretary at Westinghouse prior to marrying Joseph J. Lane on Oct 14, 1950 at St. Regis Church in Trafford, PA. Helen and Joseph raised their seven children on Long Island, NY and retired to North Fort Myers, FL. Helen enjoyed golf, bridge, reading, and time with her family. She was known for baking exceptional blueberry pies!

Helen was predeceased by her husband in 2004; her eldest son, David Lane, in 2011; and her siblings Catherine Schendel, Margaret Sabol, Elizabeth Ondrey, Mary Badanjak, Anna Kvaternik, Frank Baric, and John Baric. Helen is survived by her brother, Joseph Baric; her children Christine Bartlett, Thomas Lane, Joanne Marko, Kenneth Lane, Catherine Bilodeau, and John Lane; her daughters-in-law Lynn Lane, Natalie Lane, Jo-Anne Lane, and Sally Lane; her sons-in-law Harold Bartlett, Thomas Marko, and Kevin Bilodeau; her 14 grandchildren; her 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. An interment ceremony to join her husband at Arlington National Cemetery will be scheduled at a later date.
