Obituary of David Kelly

       David Lesane Kelly Jr, also known as Davey or Cowboy PaPa, passed away at the age of 71 in North Charleston SC at Trident Medical Center on June 12, 2022. David was born on February 2, 1951 in Charleston South Carolina.  He is preceded in death by his parents David Kelly, Sr and Juanita B. Kelly, his brother Chris Kelly, and a son, Joseph F. Kelly.

       Surviving relatives include his wife, Delia Hogon-Kelly, and former wife and mother of his two children, Debbie Poole, siblings which include Sheryl Hill (Chris) and Allison Malphrus (Van), daughter, Tami Enright (Michael), step children Ashley Hogon-Lafevers (Jamey), Marshall Hogon Jr. David is also survived by grandchildren Bowen, Kelly, Talula, and Wilhelmina Enright and Meyer Kelly, and step-grandchildren Savannah, Ben, and Aaron LaFevers. As well as nieces and nephews Scott (Julie) and Bryan (Shelley) Monahan, Chris Kelly, Lauren (Ross) Kastner, Ashley (William) White and Tyler (Monica) Malphrus, and many great nieces and nephews whom he loved.

       David attended North Charleston High School and pursued a career in Construction Sales. David was born wearing a cowboy hat, he loved his family and friends very much. David was an excellent shag dancer and most of all loved music, old movies (especially westerns), traveling and was John Wayne’s biggest fan.

      Visitation and services are being handled by Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services at Northwoods Baptist Church , 2200 Greenridge Rd , North Charleston SC, at 2:15 on Saturday June 18, 2022 and burial will follow at Summerville Cemetery, 1330 Boone Hill Rd, Summerville SC. Pastor Tommy Meader will officiate.
